Jay Bocook's Excellent Cadets Adventure

Visits to Two Cadets Camps Await Hall of Famer

Jay Bocook, the musical arranger for both Cadets and Cadets2, will spend his weekend split between Pennsylvania rehearsal camps listening in and working with both corps’ staffs on his arrangements for the 2012 programs.

First, Jay will take in the sights and sounds on Saturday with the team at South Mountain Middle School in Allentown, as Cadets2 work overtime on their ‘Launch’ program which will officially take flight this coming week at the corps’ very first public appearance at the YEAllentown! Benefit Concert set for Thursday, June 7.

Rich Hammond, Cadets2 Director said, “We are looking forward to having Jay join us for the rehearsal on Saturday.  The members are particularly excited as very few of them have ever had the chance to work up-close with Jay and to think this trip comes just five days before our first performance – the timing could not be any better.”

After spending Saturday with Cadets2 in Allentown, Jay will be whisked off to a three-day stay in Johnstown, Pa. with The Cadets which includes the corps’ first public performance of ’12.25’on Sunday evening at 7PM at Richland High School. Sunday’s Appreciation Day appearance is the corps chance to perform before a fond and appreciative crowd of community residents who have become Cadets fans over the past five years of Spring Training in the Western Pa. enclave.

Corps Director George Hopkins said, “The ’12.25’ program has been coming along very nicely, however there’s only so much that can be shared through sound files, video posts and email. Having Jay come up and spend a few days with the musical staff and members will give us a great deal of momentum as now we are but two weeks from our first on-field performance.”

Your chance to see The Cadets and Cadets2 for the very first time ever will come this coming Thursday, June 7 at 7PM at Allentown Symphony Hall at the annual YEAllentown! Benefit Concert.  Tickets are $20, $10 for Students under 18 and Children 6 and under are FREE. Come out to join us for the first uniformed, public appearances and support the cause of YEA! at the same time this Thursday.
