Enthusiastic responses received

552692_1728847540881_641524687_n.jpgThe Cadets did a clinic for 250 marching band students at the University at Buffalo on Thursday, June 28. Jack Gaylord, promoter of the Music is Cool event sent along the following note to the attention of Corps Director, George Hopkins:

George,

Music is Cool was way COOL!!!! What a day! The Cadets did an incredible job!

The biggest of THANKS to Cadet staff and members. It was one of those experiences where you wish every kid in WNY was there! The response of the kids who attended was amazing. According to them, they had loads of fun while learning a lot.

What an experience for our youth to be able to play next to spirited and talented musicians, and The Cadets were enthusiastic and gracious while sharing... As talented as they are, we were struck by their humble nature combined with an unbelievable work ethic. We are looking forward to building on this experience!

The Cadets have a Christmas themed show this year; what a present they gave to us!

A few of the many responses we have received:

“Just wanted to say thanks to whoever made The Cadet Clinic for the marching band kids happen. I drove three students home yesterday, and albeit tired from the day, they absolutely loved it.

"My own son, Peter...said they learned a lot and that Mr. Blickwedehl (our West Seneca Marching Band director) should have made it mandatory!

"Thank you again for a wonderful opportunity for these kids. I know running these kinds of things is never easy, but a lot of kids and parents really appreciate your efforts.

"Have a great day.”

~ S. Bucki

“What a phenomenal event! Our son LOVED it. He learned a lot and met some really great role models. Thank you to those who put it on. I hope we can do it again.”

~ B. Murphy

“My son & his friends had an amazing time. The Cadets ROCK! They were so talented, cool & friendly. Can't wait to see them again. Wish Drums On the Waterfront will come back again too. I'd love to see the DCI groups in competition. I'm forever more a Cadet fan now.”

~ D. Crisp

Thanks George for all you did (including your own presentation; super!). Your Music is Cool package/program reached the objectives on this end, and it appeared it did so for you as well. The program was educational on many fronts. Post, I heard a theme of a new respect for The Cadets amongst participants; I join this chorus. By your actions you showed us who you really are.

Best of Luck with the rest of your tour.

Sincerely,

Jack
