Sunny skies but Hot Temperatures Move Jackson Start Time for Saturday

Start time moved to 8PM for Saturday evening event

Sunny skies will greet drum corps fans and performers on Saturday, July 7 when the Drum Corps: An American Tradition event steps off at Jackson Liberty HS in Jackson, NJ. However, temperatures are forecast to be in the 90’s with high humidity, which in turn, has led the team at YEA! and DCI to postpone the start of the event to 8:00PM.

On another note, the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest has been postponed.

“We’re rearranging the schedule slightly as to not alter the routine of the majority of the corps, but for the benefit of the members and specifically the fans, an additional hour can make a difference,” said George Hopkins, Director of the Cadets and CEO of YEA! the parent organization of the Cadets.

The revised schedule will no longer include an intermission, however the Jackson Liberty HS band parents will be well prepared and well-stocked with concession stand favorites before, during and at the end of the show.  We encourage fans to stop by and pick up a cold drink and tasty snack to help support this wonderful music program who has assited the Cadets, Cadets2 and YEA! in putting together this wonderful event three out of the past four years.

Here’s the new schedule:

8:00PM    Welcome

8:22PM    Raiders

8:39PM    Jersey Surf

8:56PM    Teal Sound
