Week 2 Preview - September 22

In the second week of competition, over 100 schools will debut their programs at a USBands Show!

For the second week of the USBands competitive season we stay in the Northeast, with almost a dozen shows across 4 states.

In Maryland it's “North” weekend! Northwest, Northern and North East HS’s are all hosting great shows, and blanket the entire state. In its second year hosting a USBands event, North East HS hopes to become a staple of the early fall schedule. NEHS is conveniently located where PA, DE and MD meet, and is an easy drive for all bands from that area.

One of the many brand new shows on the schedule this season will take place at Putnam HS in Connecticut, and bring together bands from Eastern Connecticut, Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts. This new show promises to bring new faces for some of our New England area bands!

Another highlight Week 2, is the number of defending state and National champions who will bring their 2012 programs to the field for the first time. This is certainly the case in Pennsylvania, where Perkiomen Valley HS will showcase some of PA’s top open class bands, including defending Group 4 Open Champs North Penn HS.

With four shows running New Jersey on this weekend, the competition will really heat up as over 60 units will take to the field in NJ alone. Burlington City HS hosts most of the south/ central NJ area schools, while the north Jersey schools are split between the other three shows.

Additional Update – Some changes will be made over the next few weeks to the A/ Festival Nationals schedule, as we try and balance the number of groups registered, and give all students the best experience possible. Open Class will remain the same.
