SAT Update for 10/6

Week 4 may be an SAT testing date, but there are plenty of great events to attend!

Saturday, Oct. 6 is an SAT testing day. This information has been posted on the USBands schedule page since the spring, and we will try to accommodate scheduling as much as possible.

We kick off week 4 with the Marine Corps Invitational! A staple on the schedule of most Maryland area bands, this event has grown more than ever before. Held at Navy- Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, A class bands also get a preview of their finals venue. A preliminary outline of the schedule was made available to those who have registered, due to the early start time.

Other Premiere Events taking place during Week 4, include the USBands Georgia Regional, which has doubled in size from 2011. It will be a busy weekend in Texas as well, with three great contests including the Burleson Showcase, the Dekaney Showcase and the Goliad Showcase. Tickets for all USBands Regional events are available from your band director!

Other Southern shows include Arlington HS in Arlington TN, and Oakleaf HS in Orange Park, FL.

Back in the Northeast…

With a never ending array of shows to chose from in this Northeastern part of the country there are just a few notes and reminders for Week 4.  The cohosted King Phillip/Oliver Ames show will take place at King Phillip HS this year.  North Warren HS in Blairstown, NJ offers a great location for North Jersey and Pennsylvania bands, and several spots are still available in that show! There are also a few NJ area shows that have been closed due to overwhelming participation. There are waiting lists for these shows, but as the two week mark approaches, these participants will be locked. If you are on the waiting list, contact the office to see if you can be moved into another event on that date.

Registration Closed:

Jackson Memorial – NJ

South Brunswick HS– NJ

Verona HS – NJ

Week 4 also marks the first round of Sunday matinées in New Jersey. Both Bergenfield HS and JP Stevens HS will host afternoon events on October 7.

Schedules for all of these events will come directly from the USBands office – Be on the look-out for them in your inbox! If you have not yet registered for one of these shows and would like to please contact a member of our USBands team –
