Week 4 Preview: Regionals Continue

TX and GA in the clear; Northeast and FL might dodge a bit of rain this weekend

STU_0187.jpgThe USBands staff is flying all over the country today and tomorrow to work at numerous regionals and shows Saturday and Sunday.

As always, rain plans are in place, but thankfully the weather in Texas promises to be much better than last weekend. Weather.com predicts no chance of rain near the Goliad Showcase, the New Braunfels Showcase, the Burleson Showcase or the Dekaney Showcase!

Saturday’s weather forecast for Johns Creek, GA looks perfect for the USBands Georgia Regional as well—82 degrees and mostly sunny with a zero-percent chance of rain.

Unfortunately, we can’t make any such promises to the Northeast this weekend. There is between a 30- and 40-percent chance of rain in many of our hosts’ cities on Saturday. Hopefully these shows will go on!

Particularly noteworthy is this weekend’s USBands Marine Corps Invitational at Navy Stadium in Annapolis, MD. This is the same venue as the USBands A-Class National Championship on November 11, so many bands will get to experience performing in the stadium well before the championship. We’re hoping for great weather but preparing for anything.

Florida weather looks a little uncertain as well, with a 30-percent chance of isolated thunderstorms throughout the day in Orange Grove.

This is also the first weekend of Sunday shows —we’ve got two shows in New Jersey this Sunday in Bergenfield and North Edison. Temperatures are going to cool off significantly, and highs will only reach the mid-50s on Sunday afternoon with a 70-percent chance of rain.

If there is a chance of rain in your area, check the USBands website throughout the weekend for weather updates. And remember to look for scores, videos and photos from the weekend at USBands.org and Facebook.com/USBands!
