Over 100 High School Bands to March at Rutgers

2012 USBands NJ State Championships Presented by NEMC


Over 100 high schools from throughout the Garden State will be participating at Rutgers University in Piscataway as part of the 2012 USBands New Jersey State Marching Band Championships Presented by National Educational Music Company (NEMC).

The 2012 USBands New Jersey State Championships Presented by NEMC will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 4 at HighPoint Solutions Stadium on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway.

We are excited to team with NEMC to make the New Jersey State Championship a remarkable event for educators, students and parents as they put a cap on their 2012 season at a fabulous event in the spectacular setting of HighPoint Solutions Stadium,” said Sean King, Director of Marketing for YEA!, parent organization of USBands.

The USBands New Jersey State Championship Presented by NEMC will kick-off on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 9:45 a.m. with the Group I A Championship. Group V A Bands will compete from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. before an Awards Ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Group III A band will compete from 3:10 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with the Group II Open, IV Open and VI Open Bands marching until 11:30 p.m. with an Awards Ceremony immediately following the final band’s performance.

Sunday, November 4 steps off with the Group II A bands competing from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and the Group VI A bands taking the field from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by an Awards Ceremony. The Championships continue from 1:50 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. with the Group IV A bands, while the event concludes with the Group I Open, III Open and V Open bands showcased from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with an Awards Ceremony immediately following.

Seedings and step-off times for each of the bands at the Championships will be determined after the competitions of October 27-28 and announced on Monday, October 29. Seedings, schedules and more will be posted at www.usbands.org.

Tickets for the 2012 USBands New Jersey State Championship Presented by NEMC are $20 and available from each of the participating schools or at the HighPoint Solutions Stadium box office the day of the event.
