There was some concern that Central High School in Bridgeport, CT, home of Kennedy Stadium, would not have power for New England States this weekend. Thankfully, the electricity has just been confirmed to be up and running at CHS and Kennedy Stadium. Therefore, the New England States Championship will run exactly as scheduled!

Due to the immense amount of rain in Virginia, USBands has relocated the Virginia State Championship to King George High School in King George, VA for this Saturday. The USBands staff is hard at work, calling every director in attendance to notify them of this important change.

“I am thrilled. Thanks to some fabulous band directors and the team, we have relocated your Champs to a turf stadium,” said USBands CEO George Hopkins.

Hopkins and the USBands staff do realize the inconvenience of a 60-mile difference in venue; however, we strongly believe that this is the best decision for the bands involved. “We do not want to take a chance. That Hurricane dropped five inches of rain, and it's not a good thing for band to be on that wet a turf,” Hopkins said.

Any further updates will be posted as soon as possible.
