Perhaps the most exciting news is that the corps' brass arranger, Jay Bocook, was able to complete the ballad, "On My Own," from Les Misérables in time for the corps to learn it over the weekend. This will most likely be the second piece in the 2013 program.

After rehearsal ended Saturday night, the members and staff gathered around to watch the DVD of their DCA Finals performance in Annapolis, MD at the end of the 2012 season.

"I think we all had sort of forgotten how great the corps got in those last few weeks of the season," said C2 Director Rich Hammond. "It was really fun to watch, and I think the members realized that they really are a real drum corps."

Over the weekend, Rich also announced that Tom Aungst, a Cadets alum and former Cadets percussion instructor and writer, will be writing and arranging the Cadets2 percussion book this year. The percussion were able to take some tremendous steps forward, and Rich also noted the impressive talent level of the entire ensemble.
