A Note to C2 Colorguard Auditionees

from Caption Supervisor Rob Watson

Rob_Watson1.jpgHey all,
I hope this note finds you well and enjoying the winter months. If you're participating in winter guard, I wish you and your team the very best of luck as the season comes to a close.

That said, the C2 Colorguard is gearing up for its April camp and beyond. The 2013 season promises to be nothing short of fun, challenging and exciting, and I really hope that you choose to be a part of this awesome summer!

April Camp: April 20-21, 2013
Visit and click on the C2 logo to get tons of great information about the April audition weekend, plus information on dues, payment plans, etc. And while you're there, register for the April camp! Don't wait. :)

Yes, I know that you may have Championships that weekend, but you can still come on Sunday!

Let me know you're coming.
At C2, we provide food and housing for you -- it's one of the great things that our organization does apart from other DCA corps. In order to make sure we have everything planned for you, I need you to confirm that you'll be at the April camp. Just e-mail me at and let me know.

Have friends interested in marching?
We have received a lot of guard interest for the upcoming summer season, but we have a simple philosophy: The more the merrier! If you have friends who are interested, bring them along to the April camp.

The 2013 Show, Les Misérables!
I can't begin to share my excitement for the show this summer. If you haven't had a chance to see some of the video updates from C2, then check it out here.

Want a former member's perspective, or have more questions you'd like to ask someone from last season?
I invite you to contact either of the C2 guard captains if you have questions about what it's like to be a member of the guard. Stephanie and Justin are just an email away!

Some Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
We will have The Cadets' equipment on hand, but we always ask that you bring your own weapons if possible until we pick the weapon line.

Where do we sleep/shower during the weekends?
Remember to bring your sleeping bag/airbed because the members sleep on the gym floor. We also use the school's locker rooms for showers.

Can my parents come for the weekend?
YES! We can always use more volunteer help on the food truck. We have parents, fans and alumni working around the clock to prepare four meals per day, fix equipment and vehicles and fit uniforms.

Parents and volunteers are also welcome to stay in the school, as we have separate sleeping quarters set aside just for the staff and volunteers.

How do people pay for their time with C2?
Members have fundraising opportunities through the corps and will be supplied with literature and advice on finding personal sponsors to assist with tuition fees.

OK - that will do it for now. I'm excited to meet you in April. Keep me updated if you're still interested in marching. I want to hear from you!

Facebook me, e-mail me; I'm looking forward to meeting you!
