Phone Call with Hopkins: YEA! Food and Wine Fest 2013

Sign up for the call this Thursday!

[object Object]Hello all. I've had some kind of aversion to this phone call; perhaps that is why I am not in charge of events.

We have had to cancel a call about the October wine tasting twice - once due to me, and the other due to the unfortunate passing of a committee member’s relatives.

That said, I am resetting this meeting for this Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Can you make it? In addition to me, the in-house event staff that will be taking the lead here will also be on the phone, along with Jim Messina and some other key leaders and volunteers. And we would LOVE to have you!

What I would like to do is give an overview of the event, discuss our different efforts and see where we will go from here.

For now, here is a little taste:

First of all, the event is October 12 -- still a long way from now. Tickets for the event are $100.00.

In the past, we've only had a few people doing the work, and it’s been frustrating and perhaps not all that it can be.

We would like to create a Ticketing Team that would be responsible for invites and the like. In basic form, if we have 20 people on a committee and each brings 10 people, we will have 200 attendees. I may be oversimplifying, but this is the idea we're after.

We would also like to create an Auction Team. Here is where we can generate an additional $10,000 or more, depending on the quality of the gifts.

The event will be held at a restaurant called Taos in Northern New Jersey. It’s awesome!

I am sorry for the cancellations. Jim Messina is about ready to hit me in the head.

Register today, and we are going to keep hustling so that we can get a good presentation together with a good variety of folks to assist.

Gang, at the end of the day, what we want to do is create great events that raise friends and funds!! This wine tasting can do that. Great food, wine, friends and just a wonderful time.

And, as Youth Education in the Arts transitions from the corps season to the band season, this fall Sunday will be perfect for our friends and fans to gather and celebrate all that we do and all that is possible.

So please register, and I promise to be on the call tomorrow.
