Cadets Suddenly Need Performers

Tough weekend leaves tuba, baritone & 3 guard holes

JesseBurbank_ST.jpegAfter 10 injury-free days of Spring Training, The Cadets got hit with a variety of injuries and personal situations over the weekend, including knee and hamstring injuries, a parental illness, a possible stress fracture and a failed class that requires summer school. To be sure, this was not a good Sunday/Monday in Cadets land.

As the healthy 147 work towards the start of tour on June 13, we are suddenly on the hunt for a few members:

  • Tuba
  • Baritone
  • Colorguard: Rifle
  • Colorguard: Sabre
  • Colorguard: Flag

Interested?

We need members who are:

  • Excellent at their instrument or equipment
  • Physically fit
  • Experienced in drum corps (this would be beneficial, as you will be jumping into the middle of the learning process)
  • Able to pay between $2,700 and $3,000 for the summer tour

Decisions will be made this Friday, but early interest will be considered immediately. Preference will be given to those with proven summer experience as well as those who can get to Johnstown, Pa. quickly.

Please send a letter of interest and a photo or video to Cadets Director George Hopkins at hopkins@yea.org.

Applicants will receive a response no later than Friday evening, May 31.

For information on The Cadets' tour, please e-mail Melissa Barlow at melissa@yea.org.
