New Jersey States Schedule and Seeding An update from Team USBands
“Letting each group know approximate windows of performance times helps them immensely in their planning," USBands Director Justin Heimbecker said. "This coming weekend (October 5-6) is the final weekend in which USBands will consider scores for the State Championship seeding process in New Jersey. We look forward to going through the recaps and assignments on Monday morning, and releasing exact performance times for New Jersey State Championships Presented by NEMC on Monday evening, October 7." Band directors, staff, students and their families may watch the video below in which Heimbecker and CEO George Hopkins talk a bit about the rationale for the scheduling process for New Jersey States.
The approximate group blocks will take place as described below, with performance order determined by a scale utilizing a.) the number of USBands events in which a band is participating, and b.) 50% of the highest competitive “in-class” score achieved for a band 13 days prior to the State Championship.
