The sights and sounds of marching band make crisp, autumn evenings come to life. Experiencing the precision and pageantry of talented young people performing in unison is nothing short of breathtaking.

SouthingtonHS_smile_2013.jpgHundreds of students learning and challenging themselves to be their best, all connected through the power of music, making memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives… could it get any better?

But what would happen if this uniquely American experience were taken from these young people? What if the music stopped?

USBands and the newly formed Friends of Music program is asking for support to help us continue the tradition of marching band. By partnering with us, we can ensure that these spectacular marching music showcases exist into the future to support the music educators who have dedicated their lives to teaching music.

Parents and fans can join the USBands Friends of Music movement today with a contribution of $25, $50 or even $100. Click here to make your donation and be part of the excitement of marching band.SomervilleHS_rifle_smile_guard2013.jpeg

Celebrating its 25th year of serving music students nationwide, USBands is the largest and most active marching band circuit in the country, serving over 600 bands in more than 120 events annually.

As performers in USBands, students get the chance to perform in collegiate and professional venues like MetLife Stadium, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, and numerous others. Bands are evaluated by many of the top music educators in the country who give directors positive, constructive comments that help the students continue to learn and get better.

Performing in spectacular venues like MetLife Stadium, home of Super Bowl XLVIII this coming February, is the experience of a lifetime for a young band member. Team USBands works tirelessly to make the magic happen for these band students. But in today’s world, providing high-quality performance and adjudication experiences is costly.FriendsofMusic_300_ad.jpg

Unfortunately, more funding is being cut from public schools every day. This means there is a chance in the not-too-distant future that the marching bands we enjoy and that young people perform with will no longer have those opportunities for excellence.

The members of Friends of Music are passionate about music and young people and the remarkable outcomes when the two are combined!

You can join Friends of Music today by clicking here. There are thank you gifts we will send you for donation including some great USBands gear and free access to certain shows.
