USBands 2014 Indoor Clinics

Details on the 2014 Indoor Guard and Percussion Clinics Feb. 8 & 15

In a continued effort to maximize membership in USBands Indoor, we are happy to announce details on the upcoming indoor clinics which coincide with the first indoor events in each region.

Both Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School in New Jersey and Plainfield High School in Connecticut have agreed to host these wonderful events as we kick off the 2014 USBands Indoor Season.

Students of participating ensembles will spend the day (Feb. 8 & 15, respectively) working with experienced clinicians in a fun and educational setting, while their instructors discuss programming concepts, musical choices and overall design with top-level adjudicators.

These clinics will provide students and staff with an experience that only USBands can provide, while also giving them additional tools and resources to enhance their programs during the course of the season. From beginner units to experienced teams, students of all levels will have the opportunity to learn and work with our clinicians creating new experiences and fostering growth.

A detailed schedule of events for the Plainfield clinic, which will take place on February 15, will be coming soon!

Fair Lawn Guard indoor 2013

On February 8, upon their arrival at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School, each percussion ensemble will spend a half-hour with the clinicians, where their staff will be able to discuss programing and musical concepts with the clinicians. During the second half of the day, students will combine with members from the other ensembles and then split into their respective sections (pit & battery).

Colorguards will combine with other ensembles and explore concepts of movement and performance for the first half of their afternoon. Units will also receive a half-hour with the clinicians, allowing them to work with the students one-on-one, and giving the staff time to explore programming and concepts for the season.

Any units with questions on classification or the adjudication process will have more than enough time with some of our circuits top level adjudicators in both the guard and percussion disciplines.

Clinicians include: Mickey Kelly, Sal Adamo, Izzy Delgado, Antoine Balark, Darren Delaney, Rich Hammond, Johnny Trujillio and Andrew Barlow.

These clinics are offered to groups at no cost if this is their only USBands event this winter. After the conclusion of the clinic portion of the day, parents and spectators will enjoy a preview show as we launch into the 2014 USBands Indoor Season!
