Video Conference Recap: Drill & Design

Webinar with visual designers Marc & Jeff a success

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to last night's video conference with The Cadets' concept designer and former drill writer Marc Sylvester and the corps' current drill writer Jeff Sacktig.

"The call with Marc and Jeff was cool," said The Cadets Director George Hopkins who moderated the webinar. "I think the video component really adds a lot. It puts real people with the names and helps keep people engaged in the conversation on a more personal level."

Public opinion seems to concur:

George, Marc and Jeff began the conversation by explaining each of their histories with corps. Listeners got to hear Marc and Jeff talk about George Zingali's impact on The Cadets' tradition as well as each of their unique approaches to drill writing and show design.

Throughout the talk, George kept up with user-submitted questions, allowing listeners to direct the topics of discussion. As fans submitted their questions, George used them to guide the conversation, and many received in-depth answers to questions, like the transition from hand-written drill to Pyware, and the evolution of The Cadets' visual show design throughout the years.
