So far 4 states will host Music in Motion events this fall

Debuting this fall, Music in Motion - a non-profit formed by the Bluecoats, Blue Devils, The Cadets, Carolina Crown, The Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment and Santa Clara Vanguard - presents the Marching Music Series: An impressive line-up of high-profile marching band events across the country that will feature the highest level of adjudication, excellent customer service, and venues and event management beyond reproach.

Events in the Marching Music Series have been announced in four states this fall, one each in the Southwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and West:

The C. H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton, Texas has been named the host of the first Marching Music Series event on Oct. 11, 2014.

Band students who perform in Denton this fall will have the opportunty to compete on the same stage as the world's top marching units. On July 17, the C. H. Collins Athletic Complex will also host DCI Denton, featuring several top drum corps including defending World Champion Carolina Crown, the eight-time World Champion Cavaliers and six-time World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard.

The following week, bands will take the field at the University of Utah's Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium in Salt Lake City on Oct. 18, 2014.

"Rice-Eccles Stadium is one of the most impressive collegiate venues in the nation," said USBands Director Justin Heimbecker. "Built to accomodate the 2002 Winter Olympics, it will provide an incredible opportunity for western bands to showcase their talents while receiving world-class feedback from an equally impressive panel of adjudicators."

On Oct. 18, the Marching Music Series will simultaneously showcase the superb talent of southern bands at Lambert High School's impressive stadium, just northeast of Georgia's capitol city.

"The Lambert High School Stadium provides Music in Motion with a great facility in a fantastic location," Heimbecker said. "Holding such an event in Forsyth County allows groups from the entire Southeast to converge on North Georgia for an incredible experience with one of the most impressive adjudication panels ever assembled in the world of marching music."

Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. will showcase Mid-Atlantic bands on Nov. 1, 2014.

With its beautiful facility, great vantage point, and stellar judging panel to be named next week, this premier event will provide a fantastic experience for East-Cost band students, instructors and spectators alike.

These events will feature the highest level of adjudication, excellent customer service, and venues and event management beyond reproach. Stay tuned to for judge panel announcements soon!

All Marching Music Series events will feature a 30-band preliminary competition followed by a same-day finals competition that will feature 15 of the bands that performed earlier in the day. Awards will be given in six separate competitive classes in the prelims, while the evening show will be a 15-band, all-class event with one level of awards.
