Navy-Marine Corps Stadium to Host MMS

Marching Music Series Turns to the East Coast

Late last week, Music in Motion - a non-profit organization formed by the Bluecoats, Blue Devils, The Cadets, Carolina Crown, The Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment and Santa Clara Vanguard - announced the Marching Music Series: Four high-profile marching band events that will be held across the country in the fall of 2014.

Marching Music Series events will feature the highest level of adjudication, excellent customer service, and venues and event management beyond reproach.

So far, the C. H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton, Texas has been named the host of the first Marching Music Series event on Oct. 11. Today, Music in Motion proudly announces another fall venue:

On Saturday, November 1, the Marching Music Series comes to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. for a magnificent showcase of Mid-Atlantic bands.

With its beautiful facility, great vantage point, and stellar judging panel to be named next week, this premier event will provide a fantastic experience for East-Cost band students, instructors and spectators alike.

"Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis has been a staple of the USBands schedule for years, including a stint as the site for National Championships," said USBands Director Justin Heimbecker. "The opportunity to combine this venue with the Music in Motion brand is an experience we can't wait to offer to the bands in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions!"

Like all four of this year's Marching Music Series events, this will be a 30-band preliminary competition followed by a same-day finals competition that will feature 15 of the bands that performed earlier in the day. Awards will be given in six separate competitive classes in the prelims, while the evening show will be a 15-band, all-class event with one level of awards.

Registration for the four premier events of the Marching Music Series is now open! Directors may sign up at
