Dan Schack

Battery Percussion Instructor: Cadets Winter Percussion

Hailing from Connecticut, Dan has been involved in marching percussion since his freshman year of high school. He began playing snare drum with the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corps in 2005 and continued to marching with the corps through 2009, serving as the battery section leader from 2007 to 2009. In 2010, Dan became a member of United Percussion (PIW) and joined the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps for the 2010 summer season, where he remained through 2011.

During his time as a Cavalier, the percussion section traveled to Japan to perform in the Okayama City Marching Baton-Twirling Festival as well as various clinics. In 2011, The Cavaliers received the Fred Sanford High Percussion Award, while Dan was snare section leader. He was also a member of Rhythm X from 2011 to 2012.

Dan has studied under many prestigious educators, including Michael McIntosh, Dr. Brian Tinkel, Tim Maynard, Tim Jackson, Darick Kelly and Brian Stockard.

He has taught ensembles all over the East Coast and Midwest, including Capital City Percussion (PIO), and is currently on the instructional staff for 7th Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps.
