David Diaz, Director of Donor, Alumni & Corporate Relations

DavidDiaz.JPGDavid joins YEA! and The Cadets as the new Director of Development. He brings a wealth of experience as an advancement professional and an invaluable background in the worlds of both drum corps and non-profit fundraising.

Prior to joining YEA!, David spent just over three years working as the Director of Development for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisc., where he was primarily responsible for developing, managing and implementing the university's annual fundraising plan.

He specializes in developing strategic fundraising plans and initiatives as well as building relationships with individual and organization contacts to cultivate support from community leaders, business leaders, alumni, parents and donors.

Before joining UW-Parkside, David was the assistant director of annual and special giving for the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He also served as the Milwaukee Area Technical College Foundation's donor and alumni relations specialist.

He has extensive experience with non-profit organizations, having served in development positions for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties and the Lake County (Ill.) Council against Sexual Assault. He started his career as assistant to the Grants and Special Projects Director at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

In addition to over 10 years' experience leading development efforts, David spent 10 years marching in the Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps Drumline from 1984 to 1993. He also served as an airman in the United States Navy.

David is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

He is committed to a career as an advancement professional and highly values building relationships with donors for the ultimate good of the students we serve. He not only brings leadership and vision to the Development Department of YEA!, but integrity and teamwork as well.

He comes to Allentown, Pa. from Racine, Wisc. with his wife and four children.
