A Letter from Director George Hopkins:

Greetings, and thank you for your interest in The Cadets Maroon & Gold Club.

With the summer quickly approaching, The Cadets and Cadets2 need to make some investments.

You see, if I have a fault as the leader of Youth Education in the Arts and The Cadets, it is that I am sometimes too frugal.

As a result, we have some not-very-nice buses, trucks and vans.

What do we need?

Well, here is the mileage on the vehicles in our convoy:

What do we do?

We do not buy new, of course. That would be a waste of money for our organization. The plan is to purchase a gently used replacement for each vehicle.

Our goal for this campaign is $300,000.

With your support and the help of the folks at the bank, we will be ensuring safe travel for two Cadets corps for many years to come:

Two Corps, 1,200 donors

To equip our two great drum corps with the transportation they truly need to be safe, we need 1,200 donors. And friends, we do not take this support without gratitude.

The Cadets Maroon & Gold Club is by far the largest of all drum corps support systems across the country. Year after year, alumni, ticket-buyers, parents and friends team up to keep The Cadets and now Cadets2 in great shape.

2014 marks the 80th anniversary of The Cadets. Cadets2 is already turning 3 this year. And this winter, Cadets Winter Percussion captured the Open Class World Championship in their very first year of existence. Plus, we recently announced the launch of Cadets Winter Guard in 2015!

And you make it all happen.

So please, give a little more than you think is reasonable. My friend, The Cadets are unreasonable. What we ask of these young people is just nuts, but they do it, and I am hoping you will as well.

Each level of giving comes with a membership premium, so take a look at the gifts available.

Time is our enemy. As you read this, we are standing at the used car dealership, looking at our new (slightly used) vehicles in hopes that we can adequately provide for the kids this summer and beyond.

Please come on board and be a part of the team.

As I say every day, it is a privilege and an honor to lead this organization.

Thank you for allowing me to do so, and thank you for your contribution.

Happy Spring!
